We exist in a time when you can buy almost anything online and get it delivered within a day or two. Carbon Theory Metalcraft is not one of those places. You may be looking for a mailbox that’s different than your neighbor’s, or maybe you see something I’ve done in the past that sparks an idea you’d like to explore. If you prefer to surround yourself with objects that have a story and a soul, we can work together to create something that we can both be proud of. This will be a unique opportunity for you to be involved in the conception of your new project and receive photo updates of it’s progress from raw materials to a finished product. This same philosophy applies to all projects, a free standing art piece, a side table, or a single light fixture. Every time you walk by your Carbon Theory Metalcraft project, you’ll recall the pictures of the unfinished steel structures and you’ll remember the progression of the project and what it took to become a part of your home, office or restaurant. These pieces will tell a story that gets more interesting as time goes on.
The relentless pursuit to create, modify, improve and reuse even the most basic and overlooked component. That started early in Aaron’s life. It began with Legos. After building the kits and following the instructions down to the letter, inevitably, they were reduced to a pile of plastic block happiness. From there, anything was possible! Later bicycles became a full time fixation for Aaron. Never leaving anything alone, they were all taken apart and reassembled in several incarnations…each one better than the last. Bicycles led to Jeeps, and you can imagine how that went.
Stella is the office manager. She’s got an eye for numbers and keeps the paperwork tidy. She’s not too chatty, but her ears make her a good listener. When she’s not doing the books, she double checks our quality control standards.
Willie is the head of new business development. He’s a little older and wiser than the office manager, but due to his terrible eyesight, he can’t keep track of the small details. With a face like that…you don’t have to work too hard….
No matter what we create together, you’ll know it was built with care and even the smallest details were looked after. You won’t see the time spent making sure every corner radius is perfect. You probably won’t realize that the edges and transitions have sanded and ground with several different mediums to produce that mirror smooth edge. You won’t see the effort required to make discarded objects and raw materials come together to become something not found in any store. What you will see is that every piece was built by hand with complete consideration from concept to completion. Each completed piece is born from the commitment to prove that it can be done, and it can be done better. There is no “good enough”.
