It just seems to have the feel of a pirate ship to me. I think it has to do with the support cables and the overall shape. This is a fairly modern pot rack made from mild steel and inlaid with an exotic wood. The ceiling hangers have more of an industrial feel with the clevises and mounting hardware. I find that mixing modern and industrial form together usually creates a unique and interesting piece!
